Who We Are
Conifer Insurance Company (CIC) is a family business focused on serving niche industries that are overlooked by powerhouse insurance companies. In 2010 CIC was formed by Jim Petcoff who, at the time, already had over 20 years’ experience in the P&C insurance industry. His experience included time working as an independent agent and took him all the way to becoming the CEO of North Pointe Insurance Company (NPIC). While at NPIC, Jim established a skilled team and eventually became the #1 writer of liquor liability in the state of Michigan. Many people from that team have now joined CIC, which has once again established itself as a leader in liquor liability amongst its peers. We strive to be at the forefront of P&C insurance and adapt our services to the ever-changing landscape.

Our mission is to exceed our clients’ needs with specially tailored insurance products coupled with exceptional customer service. By identifying insurance markets the powerhouse insurance companies overlooked, we developed customized insurance coverages that provide premium relief, pricing stability, and enhanced coverages to our clients. We provide unique risk management services and continually review business risks to develop new coverages to address those risks. Our size and niche-focus allow us to respond immediately to the needs of our clients both locally and nationally.
